Pre-Sales Engineer - Verticomm

Summary: The Pre-sales Engineer is responsible for supporting the Verticomm sales team by providing technical expertise, solution design, and strategic advice to potential and existing customers. You will bridge customer needs with Verticomm’s IT Managed Services portfolio, facilitating successful sales and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer needs and identify alignment with our IT Managed Service solutions.

Prepare and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to prospective clients.

Provide in-depth technical knowledge of our IT Catalog and various product/service offerings, such as:

Microsoft services (M365, Azure IaaS)

Cyber security solutions (EDR, MDR, SOC, SIEM)

Data Backup and recovery (Datto)

Collaborate with sales team to develop proposals, including defining scope, aligning deliverables, and pricing.

Assist in responding to RFPs/RFQs with technical accuracy and align solutions with customer requirements.

Engage with customers to understand their business challenges and provide solutions that leverage appropriate products and solutions from our offerings.

Maintain expert-level knowledge of Verticomm’s Managed IT Services offerings and products, staying updated on market trends and competitors.

Support the sales team in closing deals by addressing technical questions and concerns from clients.

Participate in customer meetings, workshops, and events to promote our solutions.

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in technical Service Delivery, with MSP experience strongly preferred in:

Directory Services (Microsoft Active Directory, Entra ID)

Networking (routers, switches, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, NAT, OSI Layers)

Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, administration, licensing, Teams, Purview)

Cybersecurity (EDR/MDR, Zero Trust, firewalls, email security, compliance)

Endpoint Management (MDM, Intune, SCCM)

Cloud Platforms and Services (Microsoft Azure)

Backup and Disaster Recovery (Datto, Veeam)

MSP Tools and Platforms (Ninja, IT Glue, ConnectWise, or similar)

Security Solutions (KnowBe4, Sentinel One, Huntress, Proofpoint etc.)

3+ years of experience in pre-sales engineering, IT consulting, or similar roles within the Managed IT Services industry.

Understanding of ITSM frameworks (ITIL, COBIT)

Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect AZ-305, Azure Administrator AZ-104, Azure Foundations AZ-900, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals MS-900, Microsoft 365 Administrator MS-102, etc.)

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Key Soft Skills:

Clear communication, translating technical concepts into business terms and risks and actively listening to client needs.

Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for non-technical audiences

Trust building and effective collaboration with internal teams

Proactive problem-solving, applying critical thinking to address challenges

Time management, balancing priorities and meeting deadlines efficiently

We offer a salary range between $115k – $135k as well as medical, dental, vision and pto, paid holidays, and a 401k with a generous company match as well as long and short term diability and life insurance.
