
Sales - On-highway Product Support Rep II

This position will achieve parts and service profit goals by promoting and selling service programs, preventive maintenance contracts, parts, and additional repair programs within an assigned territory or region for the company’s On-Highway products.
Position Duties/Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities
Develop On-Highway business in the assigned territory and ensures customers are satisfied with the MFC’s performance
Responsible for promoting service capabilities as well as product offerings to current and potential new customers
Partner with Service and Parts to provide technical details of the various services quoted
Formulate and develop service-oriented programs that meet the approval of Caterpillar and prove profitable for the Company
Review and update flat rates working with the service department to establish customer expectations
Maintain order information and establishes credit between the customer and the Company prior to service work being performed
Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with Caterpillar, their field representative and all involved personnel to support the service programs and achieve overall goals
Initiate and complete reports and other associated paperwork detailing customer calls and sales activities utilizing the CRM
Proactively seek, maintain, and renew Customer Value Agreement (CVA) opportunities with new and existing customers
Create custom incremental parts and service quotes for customers
Performs other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
No formal responsibility for supervising others
Position Requirements Required
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communication or mechanical/electrical curriculum
10 years or more of experience with On Highway and Caterpillar equipment, parts and/or service.
Preferred
Bachelor’s Degree with a business-related concentration
Knowledge of full range of products (Caterpillar, etc.)

Strong customer service skills and thorough understanding of Price, Quality, and Turnaround
Ability to develop and maintain product knowledge of Caterpillar
Ability to manage multiple situations and priorities simultaneously, guiding each situation from beginning to end for the desired positive outcome
Ability to assess customer needs and evaluate customer satisfaction
Ability to visualize the “big picture”, offering more than just “a sale” to the customer but including servicing the customer with the entire MFC product line solutions

Works under limited supervision. Independently determines the approach to take and the methods to use. Interprets policy in terms of objectives. Informs manager of unusual situations with far reaching implications
Major responsibilities typically require creativity and latitude. Employee typically operates with specific objectives but often few written or unwritten procedures as guidelines. Some policies or precedents for action exist
If an error is made while in this position, it will require effort to identify and the error can impact the company financially
Frequently communicates with customers, management, coworkers, and vendors
