The
Senior Tax Associate
position will play a key role in ensuring tax compliance for the company. As a renewable energy company, tax legislation is regularly evolving and this role focuses on all aspects of tax in the renewable industry.
Role Responsibilities
Prepare income tax work-papers including calculating book to tax adjustments and depreciation
Responsible for preparation of corporate state apportionment workpapers
Prepare and/or review both federal and state income tax returns for both partnership and corporate entities
Prepare annual projections for investors
Prepare income tax estimates and coordinate payments used by various groups within the company
Help with the quarterly provision process through OneSource Tax Provision
Collaborate with other departments to efficiently obtain information to complete an accurate tax return
Respond to investor inquiries in a timely manner regarding income tax matters
Collect and manage data in SAP by generating reports and preparing journal entries
Conduct tax research on technical issues and prepare memoranda to document findings and recommendations
Job Requirements and Experiences
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
CPA license preferred
Minimum 3 years of corporate or partnership income tax experience
Working knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP
Exposure to non‑income taxes would be beneficial but is not required
Experience with OneSource (GoRS) or other tax return preparation software preferred
Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
Ability to multi‑task, while working independently and as part of a team
Motivated self‑starter, goal‑oriented, and strong problem‑solving abilities
Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
Is detail‑oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts

Pay range:
The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $86,000 – $120,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S. locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
