We have an outstanding Contract position for an
Instructional Designer
to join a leading Company located in the
Laurel, MD
surrounding area. Pay rate: $45.00 - $55.00. We are seeking an Instructional Designer to design and develop effective learning solutions to support various professional and leadership development topics. As a core team member, you will collaborate with team members and SMEs to follow the ADDIE model of instructional design and complete the effort.
Job Responsibilities
Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop learning solutions, enhancing instructional design processes and using cutting-edge tools for learning
You will design, develop, and implement effective assessment and evaluation tools to identify gaps, demonstrate results, and support incremental improvements across the learning resources
You will follow the ADDIE model to design and develop learning solutions, using proven instructional design processes and appropriate tools for engaging experiences across multiple modalities
You will be a life-long learner and stay well-informed of adult learning theory, industry standard methodologies, and tools to advance the solutions provided
You will thoughtfully incorporate the use of artificial intelligence (AI) both in your development of materials and in learner application of content, as appropriate
You will form relationships and establish credibility to collaborate effectively with supervisors, team members, third-party vendors, and others
You will collaborate in the management and use of the learning management system (Saba) to support the access to and distribution of the learning resources you develop
Basic Hiring Criteria
Possess a Bachelor's degree in Adult Learning, Leadership Development, Organization Development, Psychology, Human Systems
Instructional Systems Design (or related degree), or equivalent years of professional experience
Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in needs assessment, curriculum design and development, program evaluation methodologies, and eLearning or web-based resource development
Have one or more years of experience using AI such as ChatGPT or other large language models (LLMs) for a supporting resource in the design and development of learning solutions and/or for learning application
Demonstrate competency in Articulate Storyline and/or Rise, InDesign, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, VR/AR tools, immersive training
technologies, and/or have coding experience
Are articulate, in both verbal and written form, with excellent organization, administrative, and computer skills
Demonstrate the ability to develop learning experiences with the audience in mind, capturing their attention, encouraging their
participation, and extending learning beyond the learning event
Demonstrate the ability to follow the ADDIE model (or equivalent) and to apply adult learning theory (andragogy)
Are able to successfully work independently or across teams on multiple projects with overlapping time frames and shifting priorities
Can demonstrate strategy and innovation in learning solutions
Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and the ability to overcome obstacles to reach a resolution
Can think proactively, identify problems and solutions, and exhibit a high level of awareness and initiative
Desired Qualifications
Have experience in developing learning materials that are 508 accessible
Have instructional design, instructor, or other certifications related to the field
Have experience working with engineers and scientists in a technical, project-based environment
Have experience building out and managing training courses, records, and reporting in a learning management system, specifically Saba
