Mechanical Estimator – Sales Focus

Dallas–Fort Worth, TX (On-Site) $125,000 – $145,000 Base Salary + Performance Bonus

RLP Mechanical is seeking a sales-driven Mechanical Estimator who can help us win work and expand our presence in the Dallas–Fort Worth market.

This is not a back-office estimating role. This position plays a critical part in

bringing in new clients, securing mechanical construction projects, and helping drive revenue growth for the company.

The ideal candidate understands the DFW commercial construction market, has strong relationships with general contractors, developers, and project stakeholders, and enjoys the challenge of

turning opportunities into awarded projects.

You will work closely with company leadership, project managers, engineers, and clients to

identify opportunities, develop winning bid strategies, and secure new commercial mechanical work.

This role is ideal for an experienced estimator who enjoys both the

technical side of estimating and the sales side of winning projects.

What You’ll Do Drive New Project Opportunities

Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, developers, owners, and industry partners across the DFW market

Identify and pursue new mechanical construction opportunities

Actively engage with GCs to position RLP Mechanical for upcoming projects

Participate in networking, client meetings, and industry events to expand RLP’s presence

Win Work Through Strategic Estimating

Prepare detailed HVAC and plumbing estimates for commercial and industrial projects ranging from

$500K to $15M+

Develop competitive bid strategies designed to help

win profitable projects

Review drawings, specifications, and design documents to develop complete mechanical scopes and takeoffs

Lead the bid process from opportunity identification through final submission

Lead Preconstruction Efforts

Coordinate with internal teams on equipment selection, system layouts, and constructability

Solicit, evaluate, and level vendor and subcontractor pricing

Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid reviews, and client discussions

Maintain organized bid documentation and pricing strategies

Build Long-Term Client Relationships

Develop trusted relationships with general contractors and project stakeholders

Represent RLP Mechanical professionally throughout the bidding and preconstruction process

Help position the company as a

preferred mechanical contractor in the DFW market

Qualifications

Previous commercial HVAC and plumbing estimating experience is a must

Strong background in

mechanical construction estimating and preconstruction

Experience estimating

large commercial or industrial mechanical projects

Proven ability to

help win projects and generate new opportunities

Existing relationships with

DFW general contractors, developers, or owners strongly preferred

Strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction sequencing, and market pricing

Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously

Proficiency with estimating software and Excel (Trimble or similar preferred)

Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills

Valid Texas driver’s license and ability to attend job walks and client meetings
