Position Summary:

The Community Engagement Manager leads Public Justice Center’s community outreach and visibility efforts, which are focused on strengthening trust, awareness and collective impact by building meaningful relationships with community stakeholders and constituents, attending important community events, answering community questions about PJC activities and policy, connecting community members with relevant sectors of the organization, and more. This role will design engagement strategies and advise the executive leadership team on community engagement activities as well as manage a community engagement team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Directs and oversees day-to-day operations of the PJC community engagement team. Builds and maintains strong collaborative partnerships with community organizations, local partners and allied organizations, law enforcement agencies, churches, schools, elected officials, and other community leaders. Schedules and coordinates speaking engagements/presentations for PJC staff and other organization partners. Serves as liaison between the PJC and the various community stakeholders. Identifies, plans, and coordinates all community outreach programs and opportunities for PJC. Represents PJC at key community events in partnership with key stakeholders. Attends occasional evening/weekend events to represent PJC. Facilitates internal stakeholder meetings and maintains consistent scheduling. Engages and collaborates with the communications and branding team to ensure messaging is consistent, values aligned and centered on PJC focused initiatives. In partnership with the communications and branding team, develops, coordinates, and leads creative campaigns, and other special PJC sponsored events. Maintains accurate records of outreach and engagement activities and partnership data and monitors trends and opportunities for organizing and digital advocacy. Establishes and monitors KPIs to evaluate the success of community engagement strategies and digital campaigns. In partnership with the communications and branding team develops and implements bold, consistent social media strategies to grow awareness, engagement, and community support. Researches/Secures sponsorship and venues for various events. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required

Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Criminal Justice, Political Science, or a related field is desirable, or a combination of equivalent experience and education At Least 5 years of proven community-based work experience and social media strategy Proven experience as a people leader with strong influence skills and the ability to lead cross functionally An authentic passion for the PJC’s mission with an ability to serve as an example for the PJC’s values and a deep commitment to intersectional and race equity with experience advancing these values in organizational practices Strategic thinker with the ability to multi-task Dynamic communications skills (written and verbal) with an authentic equity-centered voice Strong relationship building skills across diverse communities and organizations Highly organized, self-motivated and proactive in identifying opportunities Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) Ability to work in a remote and office-based setting Able to work flexible hours as needed to support organizational needs Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and strong commitment to social justice, PJC’s mission, and organizational values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism ADA Specifications

Normal demands associated with an office and remote-based work environment. Ability to work on computer for prolonged periods, communicate with individuals in person, by telephone, email, and video conferencing technologies. Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of time as needed to support organizational needs.
