Activities Director
Location: Shenandoah Senior Living Community – Shenandoah, PA
Shenandoah Senior Living Community is seeking a creative, organized, and compassionate Activities Director to join our skilled nursing facility. In this role, you will plan, implement, and evaluate activity programs designed to meet the emotional, recreational, and social needs of our residents while promoting engagement and quality of life.
Shift
- Full-Time
- Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Occasional weekends and holidays as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule engaging activities such as movies, parties, games, crafts, projects, and field trips, with activity calendars prepared at least one month in advance.
- Assess and monitor residents’ spiritual, social, recreational, and emotional needs through routine visits and discussions with residents and their families.
- Encourage residents to improve physical, cognitive, and social skills through participation in activities.
- Collaborate with nursing supervisors to ensure activities align with physicians’ orders and care plans.
- Assist with resident shopping requests and support facility programs as needed.
- Coordinate and facilitate monthly Resident Council meetings .
- Document resident participation and activity updates in PCC (PointClickCare) .
- Work with the interdisciplinary team to develop meaningful, resident-centered programs.
Qualifications
- Activity Director Certified (ADC) credential through the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP) preferred.
- Experience in long-term care or senior living preferred, or prior work under a Certified Activity Consultant.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for improving the quality of life for seniors.
