Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Engineering to lead advanced semiconductor development focused on next‑generation high‑speed networking technologies. In this position, you will oversee multidisciplinary engineering teams spanning digital, analog, and photonic domains, ensuring successful end‑to‑end silicon execution and delivery of high‑performance mixed‑signal systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full‑chip development programs from early architecture through tape‑out, including RTL design, physical design, sign‑off, and final GDSII release.
- Guide the development of high‑speed analog components such as drivers, transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs), and SerDes supporting NRZ and PAM4 signaling.
- Coordinate electrical and optical co‑design efforts in collaboration with photonics engineering teams.
- Oversee post‑silicon activities including validation, ATE strategy, and system‑level bring‑up.
- Build and lead high‑performing engineering teams by recruiting, mentoring, and establishing strong development processes.
- Manage relationships with vendors and IP partners while controlling multi‑million‑dollar silicon program budgets.
Candidate Profile
- 15+ years of experience in semiconductor design, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated track record delivering tape‑outs of high‑speed analog circuits for optical communication or networking applications.
- Deep understanding of SerDes architectures and advanced CMOS technology nodes (7 nm or below).
- Strong proficiency with industry design tools including Synopsys (digital flow), Cadence Innovus and Tempus (physical design), and Cadence Virtuoso/Spectre (analog design).
- Proven ability to lead large engineering teams and manage complex development programs.
