Stanley Kroenke with the 70,000‑seat SoFi Stadium as its centerpiece. Hollywood Park is the largest urban mixed‑use mega‑development under construction in the Western United States. Director of Engineering – Overview
The Director of Engineering is responsible for the daily operation of the engineering systems, technology, and infrastructure for SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park. The position will provide insight, expertise, and leadership in the area of facility fundamental systems management in building engineering. It will also provide expertise and guidance to NFL teams, business partners, third‑party vendors, and the initial development and construction teams.
Specific Responsibilities
- Responsible for SoFi Stadium’s physical plant and all related building systems, including daily non‑event facility operations, preventive and repair maintenance, and capital expense matrix.
- Oversee the fundamental systems of the 6,000‑seat Performance Venue, managing facility engineering, third‑party vendors, contractors, and overall operational budget.
- Direct oversight of all electrical, plumbing, gas, and water utility services.
- Oversee all HVAC, chiller plant, cooling towers, fire alarm, lighting, and building management system requirements.
- Manage all facility presentation systems, including indoor and outdoor large screen displays, scoring and timing systems, house audio, lighting control, and IPTV systems.
- Develop, with the Sustainability personnel, an energy management program that includes training and implementation of energy‑saving initiatives in building operations.
- Plan and design the organization for the back‑of‑house management team, develop job responsibilities, hire new staff, and direct staff to provide the highest quality service to all internal and external clients.
- Manage subcontracted fundamental system services.
- Long‑term budgeting and capital improvement/expense planning.
- Schedule and direct the union and non‑union labor associated with the daily engineering operations of Hollywood Park.
- Work with internal departments to ensure that the facility operates at the highest quality during event and non‑event times.
- Implement and manage the building BAS system, including administrative policies and procedures, training users, and tracking and reporting of all facility maintenance.
We’d Love to Hear From People With
- 5‑7 years of experience in public assembly facilities management with increasing responsibilities.
- HVAC and mechanical systems management.
- Knowledge of BMS and CMMS systems.
- Previous experience supervising union and non‑union workforces.
- Visibility and participation in union labor agreement contract negotiations.
- Ability to use data and analytics to achieve efficient utility systems.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods of time, and walk long distances.
- Previous experience in maintenance of vertical transportation systems.
- Significant experience with heavy machinery operations, including lifts, forklifts, and power tools.
- Experience in managing budgets and preparing capital expense matrix.
- Knowledge of OSHA and Cal OSHA regulations.

- STOOPING/BENDING OVER: occasional.
- STANDING/SITTING: prolonged standing/sitting throughout the day.

- INSIDE/OUTSIDE: indoor conditions are air‑conditioned; outdoor includes inclement weather, heat, humidity, rain, sleet, and wind.
- COLD/HEAT: general air‑conditioned environment and exposure to outside elements.
- WET/DRY: occasional moist/dry environment.
- NOISE/VIBRATIONS: high noise level and vibrations.
- HAZARDS: non‑hazardous environment.
- FUMES/DUST/ODORS: occasional.
- HEIGHTS: occasional, comfortable with working heights.
Salary Range: $100,000 to $130,000
Location: Inglewood, CA (On‑site)

Hollywood Park considers a candidate’s education, certification, prior experience, as well as internal and external data when determining the salary level for potential new employees. Only in exceptional circumstances, if an external candidate has the experience, credentials, or expertise far exceeding what is expected for the position, would Hollywood Park consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
