Today Clatsop County is one of nine Home Rule counties in Oregon. Five non-partisan elected Commissioners set policy and appoint a full-time County Manager, who is responsible for daily operations. County services are provided through these divisions: County Administration (County Manager), Assessment and Taxation, Budget and Finance, County Clerk, Juvenile, Public Health, Public Works, Community Development, the District Attorney, and Sheriff's Offices. The county also administers a road district, a rural law enforcement district, and a local sewer district. The Position
This position provides support for the effective administration of the County's Concealed Handgun Licensing (CHL) Program by providing clerical and administrative support that ensures accurate, efficient, and confidential processing of program services and positive interactions with the public. Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED, AND Three (3) years specialized training and experience in the clerical and/or administrative field or any satisfactory combination of experience and training. Must possess and maintain driving privileges in the State of Oregon. Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must successfully pass a background investigation and obtain and maintain required certification and clearance for access to CJIS, NICS, and LEDS. Must possess and maintain driving privileges in the state of Oregon and demonstrate safe driving practices. Desired Qualifications
Working knowledge of criminal and civil legal terminology and law enforcement processes and procedures. Working experience in the criminal justice field and/or two-year degree in criminal justice or related field. Knowledge of specific PC word processing software utilized by the county and previous experience in an administrative position with a county department is desirable. Experience in NIBRS (National Incident Based Report System). Proficiency with intercultural communication, including the ability to read, write, and speak Spanish. To Apply
