Patient Financial Services Representative

As the gateway to Arizona's dramatic high country, Payson offers four-season recreation. This land, where the Ponderosa Pine Forest meets desert canyon country, offers sparkling lakes, and scenic mountains. Ride horses in the morning and fly-fish in the afternoon, and once the first snow falls, strap on your skis and find a trail for cross-country skiing. As a Patient Financial Services Rep for the Payson Family Clinic, you will be tasked with working closely with providers and schedules, working with patients, and answering phone calls. This position is full-time Monday

Friday 8-5PM and maybe asked to cover the Pine Family clinic also. This position coordinates a smooth patient flow process by answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, providing registration of patient and insurance information, obtaining required signatures following established processes, procedures and standards. This position also verifies insurance coverage, validates referrals and authorizations, collects patient liability and provides financial guidance to patients to maximize medical services reimbursement efforts. This also includes accurately posting patients at the point of service and releasing information in accordance with organizational and compliance policies and guidelines. Core functions include performing registration/check-in processes, verifying insurance eligibility benefits for services rendered with the payors and documents appropriately, calculating and collecting patient liability according to verification of insurance benefits and expected reimbursement, scheduling office visits and procedures within the medical practice(s) and external practices as necessary, demonstrating proactive interpersonal communications skills while dealing with patient concerns through telephone calls, emails and in-person conversations, assisting in responding to requests for patient medical records according to company policies and procedures, and state and federal laws, and providing a variety of patient services to assist in patient flow. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent working knowledge, knowledge of patient financial services, financial, collecting services or insurance industry experience processes, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and to work independently, strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, and strong knowledge in the use of common office software, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Preferred qualifications include work experience with the Company's systems and processes and previous cash collections experience.
