Position Summary
The Brown Family Charitable Foundation – Kansas City (BFFKC) partners with schools to accelerate student achievement through strategic planning, strengthening educator leadership, elevating instruction, and promoting multi-school collaboration. As our network of partner schools continues to grow, BFFKC is seeking an Education Strategy Partner to collaborate with school administrators and teacher leaders in advancing academic excellence.
The Education Strategy Partner is part of the BFFKC leadership team, alongside the Managing Director and the foundation’s founders, supporting the development and implementation of the foundation's initiatives with partner schools.
This role is designed for an experienced educator who thrives in collaborative environments and is passionate about strengthening teaching and learning across a diverse portfolio of schools. The Education Strategy Partner will work with school leaders to support academic planning, mentor teacher leaders, strengthen professional learning, and evaluate the impact of foundation-supported initiatives.
Anticipated salary range: $90,000 – $110,000
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with school administrators and leadership teams to support academic improvement planning that accelerates student achievement through the use of data and emerging research-based strategies.
- Partner with school leaders to strengthen instructional systems through teacher leadership roles such as Math Specialists, Literacy Specialists, and STEM/STEAM Directors.
- Partner with school leaders to support the development of innovative learning environments and programs such as Makerspaces and Student Resource Centers that expand opportunities for student learning and enrichment.
- Partner with school leaders to design and facilitate professional learning, support its implementation in classrooms, and measure its impact on student outcomes.
- Build and support multi-school Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) that promote collaboration, shared learning, and instructional improvement across partner schools.
- Develop partnerships with post-secondary institutions and educational organizations that support educator development and innovative, future-ready learning.
- In collaboration with the Managing Director and the foundation’s founders, evaluate and report the impact of foundation-supported initiatives, including both financial investments and professional engagement.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in education, educational leadership, or a related field.
- Experience as a school administrator with responsibility for instructional leadership, strategic planning, and academic improvement.
- Proven track record of leading schoolwide instructional and programmatic improvements resulting in measurable gains in student achievement.
- Ability to use data and emerging research-based strategies to inform decision-making.
- Experience designing and facilitating professional development for educators.
- Ability to work effectively with K–12 schools and post-secondary partners.
- Strong knowledge of literacy development and evidence-based literacy practices preferred.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for being part of a collaborative, growth-oriented professional learning community of innovative, forward-thinking educators.
