Job Summary
Responsible for the overall success, performance and management for the strength and conditioning program for student-athletes within the Basketball Program. This role would create individualized sport performance plans for assigned student-athletes, combining cutting edge technologies, leading human performance fact-based science and foundational player development principles.
This position will interact on a regular basis with: Student-athletes, coaches, and senior level staff.
This position typically will advise and counsel: student-athletes and coaches.
This position will supervise: NA.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, plan and coordinate the strength and conditioning program for the assigned Basketball program on a year-round basis, including developing speed, strength and conditioning schedules, fundamental instruction and all teamwork outs.
- Work closely with the head coach to plan, organize and facilitate the strength and conditioning needs of the team.
- Maintain proper strength and conditioning equipment and make recommendations for the purchase of new equipment.
- Monitor the designated basketball weight training facilities for condition and safety of equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Required Experience: Five to seven years of job-related experience. Knowledge of physical conditioning theory, principles, applications, and program design; skills in teaching/instruction, conditioning staff supervision, specific training methodologies, organization, and communications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional Preferred Qualifications: Master Strength & Conditioning Coach (MSCC).
- Preferred Experience: Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Travel Requirement: Must be able to travel: Overnight travel during competitive season required.
