Job Description
The Director of Leisure Sales is responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive revenue growth within the hotel’s luxury leisure and FIT segments. This role requires extensive knowledge of the luxury travel ecosystem and established relationships with leading travel consortia, agencies, advisors, and independent consultants.
Serving as a key ambassador for the property, the Director of Leisure Sales cultivates awareness and strong partnerships across the luxury travel industry while representing the hotel within key advisor networks and industry forums.
Working closely with the Director of Revenue Management and Director of Sales & Marketing, this role supports the development of compelling guest offers, implements targeted initiatives to stimulate demand during need periods, and contributes to growing market share while protecting the property’s reputation, positioning, and rate integrity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement strategic sales initiatives to drive leisure revenue and increase FIT market share.
- Maintain and expand relationships with key luxury travel advisors, agencies, consortia partners, and independent consultants.
- Drive proactive outreach to top-producing travel advisors and strategic partners to generate incremental demand during need periods.
- Actively represent the property within the luxury travel community through sales calls, trade shows, client events, and strategic partner engagement.
- Partner closely with the Director of Revenue Management and Director of Sales & Marketing to identify need periods, booking pace trends, and opportunities to stimulate demand while maintaining rate integrity.
- Take ownership of production from key accounts and advisor relationships, ensuring consistent engagement and growth in revenue contribution.
- Identify new markets, advisors, and partnerships that align with the hotel’s positioning and long‑term revenue strategy.
- Work closely with the on‑site reservations team to maximize conversion of leisure inquiries and support the achievement of revenue goals.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop targeted campaigns, advisor communications, promotional initiatives, and compelling guest experiences aligned with the property’s positioning.
- Stay informed of luxury travel trends, market demand, and competitive activity to inform strategic planning and identify new business opportunities.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, preparing regular reports and insights to assess strategy effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide exceptional service and responsiveness to travel partners and clients, ensuring a seamless experience that reflects the standards and reputation of the property.
The starting range for this position is $150,000-$175,000. This is the pay rate for this position that Auberge du Soleil reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual pay will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of luxury leisure sales leadership experience.
- Minimum of 5+ years of direct experience working with American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts, Chase Travel, and other key luxury travel consortia and partner programs.
- Demonstrated track record of driving leisure sales revenue in a luxury hotel, resort, or destination environment.
- Established relationships with top‑tier travel advisors, agencies, and luxury travel networks.
- Strong understanding of revenue management principles and distribution strategy.
- Excellent communication, presentation, relationship‑building, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to travel regularly for sales calls, trade shows, and partner engagement.
