Director of Sales position
We are looking for a high-performing Sales Director. The successful candidate will meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives.
Responsible for total room, banquet, catering, and overall hotel revenue, yield strategies, implementation and accountable to market performance and meeting budget, forecast, and optimal business mix targets. Strategies to include, pricing, status, and direct sales. The development and solicitation of business from all markets to ensure the necessary advance bookings needed for a successful and profitable operation for the hotel.
Experience: At least 6 years of progressive hotel sales experience; or a 4 year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and at least 4 years of hotel sales experience. Supervisory and leadership experience required. Knowledge of STR Reports and Opera PMS a plus. Must have a valid driver's license.
Director of Sales responsibilities are:
Exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual sales for hotel rooms and food and beverage targets
Implementing and executing strategic plans
Building and maintaining good customer relationships
Communicating effectively among clients, hotel managers, the sales team and corporate office.
Experience working with large group arrivals, departures and requests.
Creating reports, tracking sales numbers, budgeting and on sales performance
Act as Manager on Duty
Sales Director requirements are:
Experience as a Sales Director in a hotel is a plus
Previous hotel experience in positions as a sales executive, sales manager or sales and marketing director
Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, preparation of business plans, budget, forecasting, services, long range planning and the Connecticut hotel market.
Proven ability to maximize sales, and finding new business
Demonstrable experience as head of sales, developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions
Great listening, negotiation, organizational and presentation skills
Ability to teach, train and develop sales team
Compensation: Base salary + commission
