The Director of Finance serves as the senior financial leader for Dragonfly and its portfolio partners. This role oversees the organization’s financial strategy, budgeting, accounting, reporting, and financial operations, ensuring strong financial stewardship, transparency, and decision support across the portfolio. Key Responsibilities

This role sits on the Dragonfly leadership team and works closely with program leaders and portfolio partners to align financial planning with organizational priorities, funding strategies, and long-term sustainability. The Director of Finance will lead the finance function, supervise accounting staff, and help strengthen financial capacity across the Dragonfly ecosystem. This role reports directly to the Operations Director and serves as the primary financial advisor to the leadership team on matters related to financial strategy, financial performance, and organizational sustainability. Financial Leadership and Strategy

Serve as the senior financial leader for Dragonfly and its portfolio partners Provide financial insight and analysis to support organizational strategy and leadership decision-making Design and maintain financial frameworks that support Dragonfly’s portfolio model and shared services structure Develop long-term financial planning models and scenario analyses for organizational and portfolio growth Partner with leadership to align financial strategy with programmatic priorities and funding opportunities Financial Management and Reporting

Oversee all financial operations including accounting, financial tracking, reporting, and financial controls Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for leadership, boards, and external stakeholders Develop and maintain clear financial dashboards and reporting systems that support strategic decision-making Monitor organizational financial performance and proactively identify risks or opportunities Oversee cash management and ensure strong internal financial controls Budgeting and Financial Planning

Lead the development of annual operating budgets in collaboration with organizational leadership and portfolio partners Monitor budget performance and ensure leadership has clear visibility into financial position and trends Provide financial analysis to support program development, new initiatives, and investment decisions Maintain financial forecasting models that support long-term planning and sustainability Grant and Funding Financial Management

Oversee financial management of grants, restricted funds, and program budgets across the portfolio Ensure financial reporting requirements for grants, contracts, and funders are met accurately and on time Support development teams by preparing grant budgets and financial documentation Ensure compliance with funding restrictions and reporting requirements Compliance, Audit, and Financial Controls

Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations, grant requirements, and internal financial policies Lead preparation for annual audits and manage relationships with external auditors Maintain strong financial policies, internal controls, and documentation practices Ensure the organization maintains high standards of transparency and accountability Financial Systems and Operations

Oversee financial software, reporting systems, and operational financial workflows Ensure accurate and efficient processing of accounts payable, receivable, payroll coordination, and reconciliations Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting tools, and operational workflows Support organizational teams and portfolio partners in understanding financial procedures and financial reporting requirements Team Leadership and Capacity Building

Lead and supervise accounting and bookkeeping staff Build and strengthen the finance function as Dragonfly grows Establish clear processes, standards, and expectations for financial operations across the organization Support financial capacity building across Dragonfly’s portfolio organizations Additional Responsibilities

Serve as a member of the leadership team, contributing financial insight to evaluate new initiatives, partnerships, and portfolio opportunities.
