Role Overview We are seeking a Director of Business Development to accelerate growth in the U.S. Defense & Aerospace market. This is a hunter‑builder role focused on winning design‑ins, converting RFPs, and building pipeline into revenue.
Key Responsibilities
Build and close pipeline opportunities across drones, missiles, space, and high‑altitude systems
Lead RFP capture, customer positioning, and contract negotiations
Convert opportunities into NRE programs and long‑term production agreements
Develop relationships with primes, integrators, and emerging defense companies
Partner with engineering and leadership to drive execution
Represent Sion Power with DoW and industry stakeholders
Success Metrics
Design win value (primary metric)
Funded development programs (NRE)
Signed contracts and offtake agreements
Pipeline conversion to revenue (2026–2027)
Required Experience
8–15+ years in defense/aerospace business development or program capture
Proven track record of winning RFPs and closing complex deals
Strong network across primes or UAS ecosystem
Experience working with early‑stage or pre‑commercial technology
Preferred Experience
Battery or energy systems background
UAS, missile, or space platform experience
Familiarity with NDAA requirements and domestic sourcing
Understanding of MIL‑STD qualification processes
