ATI is hiring a Technical Writer
to
join
the
team
at either our Millersburg, OR or Richland, WA facility.
The
Technical Writer
uses internal resources and existing documentation to create
accurate
, user-friendly procedures and training guides that can be understood by a variety of audiences.
This role
works onsite Monday through Friday
but
may have some off-shift responsibilities
.
You will learn ATI processes and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams,
includ
ing
a
represented
workforce, safety, engineering, quality, environmental, continuous improvement, and maintenance.
Attention to detail, a continuous improvement mindset, and exceptional interpersonal skills are included in the skillset of a successful
Technical Writer
.
Primary Responsibilities
Observe, take notes and photos, and work with Subject Matter Experts to gather information.
Analyze information to produce high quality documentation.
Ensure current document standards are followed.
Collaborate with other writers to improve document standards.
Gather customer feedback
to improve content
,
useability
, and meet expectations
.
Edit documentation to ensure consistent,
accurate
information.
Adjust responsibilities, time, and
priorities
with supervisor input
to meet
business and team
objectives
.
Promote a safe
culture for yourself and those around you.
Problem
solve
documentation issues
using existing practices and procedures.
Audit document distribution and
note discrepancies.
Basic Qualifications
Experience writing procedural documentation.
Understanding of confidentiality practices.
Proficiency of Microsoft Office Software Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Requirements
Observe plant PPE standards, which may include a half and/or full-face mask respirator.
Accountability for follow through and completion of documents.
Write clearly, concisely, and accurately.
Collaborate with diverse teams.
Learn quickly and understand complex subject matter and new tools.
Attention to detail ensuring instructions are accurate and error free.
Break down complex concepts and organize information.
Manage time and meet deadlines.
Ability to use resources to find answers.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience writing procedural documentation or Associate's degree with 3 years of experience writing procedural documentation.
Experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment is highly preferred.
Experience in a represented environment is highly preferred.
