CTG is seeking an experienced Senior Active Directory & Entra Engineer to support enterprise identity and infrastructure technologies for our client.

Location: Buffalo, NY or Wilmington, DE Work Model: Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote) Duration: 9 months Overview This role focuses on advanced engineering, architecture, and troubleshooting of Active Directory and Microsoft Entra solutions within a complex enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will collaborate with technology teams and business stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable identity and access solutions while serving as a technical mentor and escalation point for complex issues.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and support enterprise Active Directory and Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) environments.

Lead infrastructure design reviews and contribute to architecture standards and best practices.

Troubleshoot complex identity, authentication, and access-related issues.

Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture and support procedures.

Collaborate with vendors and external partners when needed.

Mentor junior engineers and review technical work, documentation, and proposed changes.

Ensure alignment with security, risk, and regulatory requirements.

Stay current on emerging technologies and continuously improve existing environments.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 6 years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure design, or architecture.

Strong hands‑on experience with Active Directory engineering (on‑prem and hybrid environments).

Experience with Microsoft Entra (Azure AD).

Advanced troubleshooting and production support experience in enterprise environments.

Proven ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience with hybrid identity and modern authentication technologies.

Knowledge of server/client architecture and virtual environments.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience in regulated environments (financial services preferred).
