Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated
Director of Rehabilitation
to lead our therapy department in a skilled nursing facility setting. The Director of Rehabilitation is responsible for overseeing therapy services, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing therapy staff, and optimizing patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the rehabilitation department including
Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), and Speech Therapy (SLP)
services.
Supervise, mentor, and support therapy staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
Ensure compliance with
Medicare, Medicaid, and state regulatory requirements .
Monitor therapy utilization, productivity, and department performance metrics.
Coordinate interdisciplinary care planning with nursing, physicians, and facility leadership.
Develop and implement rehabilitation programs to improve patient outcomes and functional independence.
Manage staffing schedules, hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations for therapy staff.
Review and maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure timely billing practices.
Maintain knowledge of current regulations and best practices in post-acute rehabilitation.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Qualifications
Licensed
Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
in the state of employment.
Minimum
3–5 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility or post-acute setting .
Prior
leadership or management experience in rehabilitation services
preferred.
Strong knowledge of
Medicare Part A, PDPM, and rehab compliance regulations .
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
