DDI is seeking a
Fractional CIO
to provide strategic and operational leadership across our IT and business systems landscape. This role will guide technology direction, optimize current systems, and ensure alignment with company growth and operational needs.
This is a
hands-on strategic role
ideal for a seasoned IT leader who can balance vision with execution in a mid-sized, fast-moving organization.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute DDI’s IT strategy aligned with business objectives
Provide leadership and oversight of IT operations, infrastructure, and cybersecurity
Optimize and integrate core business systems (e.g., HRIS, ERP, PLM)
Partner with executive leadership (HR, Finance, Engineering, Operations) to support key initiatives
Lead vendor strategy and performance management (e.g., managed service providers like Exceedio)
Establish scalable processes, governance, and documentation across IT
Assess and improve data integrity, reporting capabilities, and system integrations
Support ongoing digital transformation initiatives
Ensure compliance with security standards and industry best practices
Provide guidance on budgeting, cost optimization, and IT investments
Qualifications Qualifications
15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including CIO, VP IT, or equivalent roles
Experience in manufacturing, semiconductor, or industrial environments strongly preferred
Proven track record of leading IT strategy and system implementations in mid-sized organizations
Strong knowledge of:
ERP systems (e.g., SYSPRO or similar)
PLM systems (e.g., Arena or similar)
IT infrastructure and cybersecurity frameworks
Experience managing third-party IT vendors and managed service providers
Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
Engagement Model
Fractional / part-time (e.g., 1–3 days per week or as needed)
Hybrid with periodic onsite presence in Scotts Valley
Flexible structure based on business needs
Success Factors
Quickly assess current IT landscape and identify gaps/opportunities
Establish clear IT roadmap and priorities within first 60–90 days
Improve system integration, reliability, and user experience
Strengthen vendor accountability and performance
Enable scalable infrastructure to support company growth
