Responsible for developing and executing the airline's long-term pilot workforce strategy, including programs, partners pathways, and the United Aviate Academy.This role leads enterprise-level planning in partnership with pilot recruiting, crew planning, finance, flight training, UAX, human resources, and other stakeholders to develop a safe, sustainable and cost-effective pilot pipeline.Accountable for the safety, compliance, operational, and financial performance of the United Aviate Academy in partnership with the leadership team in Phoenix and other stakeholders Support the United Aviate Academy by partnering with the local leadership team to build and execute the institution’s strategy, drive continuous improvement of safety, compliance, operational and financial performance, and deliver a world class primary flight training experience.

Build and maintain strong pipeline of pilots for United Airlines through pathway programs, mentorship programs, and institutional partnerships that deliver the highest quality pilots to the United ecosystem and matches United's near term and long-term demand projections for pilots

Develop and execute a strategy for engaging pilots early in their training and experience building timeline and directing them to the appropriate pathway or program to bring top talent to United

Partner on marketing and communications messaging to pilot audience

Represent United and Flight Operations in industry forums and with strategic sourcing partners

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

10+ years Flight Ops Management experience or equivalent

3+ years’ experience working directly with flight training providers, labor, regulators and industry on the development and execution of part 141 primary flight training programs and part 121 airline pilot training programs, as well as pilot qualifications, safety, and standards.

Effective and Proven Communication skills

Preferred: Master of Aviation Management

Pilot qualifications and experience at an FAA Part 121 air carrier.

Deep understanding of and experience applying regulations related to FAA part 141 flight training and operations as well as FAA part 145 repair stations

6+ years of leadership experience with FAA part 121 pilot qualification programs and airline training pathways.

7+ years of proven leadership experience with demonstrated deliverables to an executive audience.
