Essential Duties

Customer Satisfaction:

Provides prompt excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly and attentive manner.

Greets customers as they enter and thanks customers as they leave.

Gives assistance and offers suggestions or recommendations to the customer.

Rings up all sales on cash register properly and accurately, handling money, checks, and other types of payment received for product sold.

Performs multi‑function operation of fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, telecom transactions, etc.

Reports to work on time and follows the dress and appearance code.

Maintains the store facility’s condition and equipment by cleaning and performing a variety of general housekeeping duties: performs cleaning duties necessary to maintain store cleanliness inside and out; basic upkeep and cleaning of all equipment; inspects store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order; contacts maintenance for repair when needed.

Completes merchandising build‑to’s, receives and verifies vendor deliveries; maintains stock, rotates inventory, places advertising and pricing signage.

Controls merchandise, cash shortages, and other selling expenses; assists with inventory levels and shift audits.

Monitors shift sales, cash handling procedures and other shift functions including daily close‑out functions; notifies Store Manager of any sales, cash, inventory or operating discrepancy.

May receive and sign vendor deliveries and verify quality and quantity of product; follows brand guidelines for product breakage or spoilage.

Supervises customer service representatives in the absence of Store Assistant Manager; coaches and trains new employees; monitors traffic and adjusts duties; assists with counseling; may direct fast‑food service area; manages gasoline pricing strategy.

Reports all incidents including employee or customer injuries, theft, property damage or improper sanitation or waste disposal; reports unsafe or unethical conduct.

Performs shift administration: counts cash drawer, records employee purchases, completes end‑of‑shift reports; ensures accurate time‑keeping; may conduct inventory; attends meetings; provides predictable onsite attendance; completes daily reports.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience in retail sales preferred.

Ability to work with equipment, tools and materials listed above.

Ability to work as scheduled including arriving to work on time.

Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly.

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) preferred.

Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described.

Ability to work in the conditions described.

Physical Requirements

Exposure to cold or warm temperature extremes; occasional work in walk‑in cooler/freeze; outdoors.

Occasional lift/carry up to 30 lbs from ground to overhead.

Occasional lift/carry up to 50 lbs from ground to waist.

Grasp, reach and manipulate objects with hands for entire shift (eye‑hand coordination).

Push/pull with arms up to 20 lbs (e.g., hand‑truck).

Reach overhead for objects.

Bend and twist at waist.
