Position Summary Support four key roles within the SHUS National Sales team under the design umbrella by providing drafting and design coordination. Stay current on interior and exterior design trends, develop model home finishes and exterior schemes, and produce architectural plans for sales offices. Contribute to cabinet design by creating and reviewing layouts. Partner closely with Architecture, Sales, Purchasing, Merchandising and Marketing to ensure cohesive design. Drive revenue through thoughtful, strategic design and help create an exceptional customer experience throughout the homebuying journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Cabinet Design
Review layouts for accuracy, design quality and value engineering opportunities.
Review architectural plans, including Plan Release Memos to identify any potential conflicts or needed cabinet adjustments.
Assist with special projects as they arise, providing drawings and documentation as needed.
Support Sales Office Design
Draft Sales Office layouts, including space planning, electrical layouts, finish specifications, and art placement diagrams.
Select and order furniture.
Complete punch list, communicate with construction and ensure all items are completed.
Model Home Interior Finishes
Select finishes on assigned models.
Create flooring layouts, wall tile diagrams, and other finish‑related documents.
Complete finish punch list, communicate to construction and ensure all items are completed.
Assit with reselections.
Upkeep sample library to ensure all samples are current, labeled and organized.
Design Center Support
Produce 3D models during design phase of new design centers.
Assist in drafting projects.
Create and maintain planograms.
Order and audit samples as needed.
Assist in planning and ordering furniture, accessories and art for new design centers.
Exterior Color Coordination
Order paint books for welcome centers.
Upkeep paint sample library
Create color schemes and matrixes.
Upload new communities into system for selection.
Review marketing elevation renderings for accuracy.
Create paint diagrams for necessary communities.
Qualifications:
Interior Design Degree or related field
Some Homebuilding or Residential Design Experience preferred
Understanding of architectural plans and elevations
Understanding of interior and exterior materials
Strong attention to detail
Strong Communication skills
Proficient In:
Auto Cad
Sketch Up
20/20
Microsoft Office Suite
Compensation
Base Salary: $60,000-$70,000
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Bonus Type: Year-end Discretionary
