Compensation:
$87,100–$130,200 annually based on a 37.5‑hour work week

Our Am Law client is seeking an experienced
Real Estate Paralegal
to join its sophisticated real estate finance practice in either Chicago or Atlanta. This role is ideal for a paralegal who thrives in a high‑volume, detail‑driven environment and is comfortable supporting complex commercial real estate and lending transactions. Candidates should bring strong drafting skills, deep familiarity with title and survey review, and the ability to manage multiple closings with precision.
Drafting & Transactional Support
Draft loan documents and a wide range of ancillary documents, including assumptions, transfers, lien releases, certificates, resolutions, schedules, legal opinions, and closing checklists.
Draft closing instruction letters and coordinate all aspects of closings for loans secured by real estate and other collateral.
Assist with filing and recording of closing documents and prepare comprehensive closing binders.
Maintain transaction calendars and prepare critical date lists.
Document Review
Review and analyze closing documents such as deeds, memoranda of leases, easements, promissory notes, deeds of trust, security agreements, UCC financing statements, subordination and intercreditor agreements, assignments, loan agreements, estoppel certificates, SNDAs, resolutions, incumbency certificates, certificates of trust, and opinion letter drafts.
Review settlement statements for real estate transactions.
Review title commitments, title policies, endorsements, restrictive covenants, easements, and surveys; prepare detailed title and survey summaries and comments to pro forma lender’s title policies.
Review and prepare corporate governance documents including LLC/LP agreements, bylaws, stock certificates and transfers, subscription agreements, resolutions, secretary’s certificates, S‑election applications, EIN applications, and formation/dissolution filings.
Coordinate and manage data rooms, due diligence materials, signature packets, executed documents, and closing sets.
Order and review due diligence documents and entity formation/registration materials.
Familiarity with pooling and servicing agreements, grantor trust agreements, and securitized loan documents is a plus.
Knowledge / Skills Required
Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred but not required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience
as a real estate paralegal, ideally within a law firm
Strong experience with
title work , including reviewing title policies and endorsements.
Ability to review and analyze
both title and survey materials
with a high degree of accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to draft documents and make substantial edits independently.
Experience with organizational documents and entity formation materials.
Background in
real estate lending or finance
is highly preferred.
