
Global Mobility Consultant

Introduction
The IBM Global Mobility team is looking for a Global Mobility Consultant to join us in Raleigh, NC, USA. In this role, you will advise and consult with HR, people managers, and associates on international transfers and assignments, immigration, and relocation in support of company’s talent strategy. You’ll deliver an outstanding relocation experience for new hires and associates. You’ll contribute to the design of global, regional, and country-specific global mobility programs. You’ll have the opportunity to partner with the implementation and management of global HR programs, policies, and procedures. As a Global Mobility Specialist, you will support senior leaders and internal HR teams in ensuring successful international transfers and assignments. You’ll need good people and consulting skills and deep insight into the dynamics of compensation strategies, benefits strategies, HR compliance requirements, collaboration, negotiation, and persuasive communication.
Your role and responsibilities
Contribute to the design of the global, regional, and country-specific mobility strategy that is consistent with the company’s Total Rewards philosophy and enables talent strategy
Provide high-quality consultation regarding mobility-related issues like the appropriateness of an assignment or transfer, cost considerations, immigration and relocation requirements, and the impact on the associate or their family
Consult with internal and external partners on complex mobility matters to develop strategies to mitigate risk and provide timely solutions.
Manage all communications with program participants and other stakeholders and ensure that documentation is kept up-to-date
Oversee immigration services for international transfers and assignments to ensure compliance with local immigration law and timely filing of immigration applications to meet deadlines
Collaborate with local HR team representatives and provide subject-matter guidance to HR team, associates, and management on a variety of mobility topics
Required technical and professional expertise
5 + years of experience in the development, management, and administration of mobility or HR programs
Specific experience with the strategy, design, compliance, and administration of expatriate programs, relocation policies and processes, immigration requirements and processes, payroll, and equity and tax processes related to mobility
Record of delivering results and operating as an internal consultant across all levels of management
Demonstrated experience with mobility and rewards strategy, organizational capability, change management, business partnering, and persuading stakeholders
Results-oriented and strategic with initiative and a consultative orientation
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; organizational skills and ability to present views in a clear and compelling manner
Good interpersonal skills; ability to forge close relationships, influence decisions, and be sought out for your opinions and counsel
Customer-focused, with an ability to effectively and quickly build relationships and establish trust, respect, competence, and confidence in fast-paced environment
Ability to multi-task and track critical deadlines
Ability to research, assess facts, and determine impact to business
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
