Your Opportunity Stantec is looking for a Mechanical/Piping Designer Intern to join the Design Team of our BC2350 Facilities and Process Engineering Group for the summer of 2026, based out of the Minneapolis, MN area. In this role, you will work closely with engineers, designers, and business professionals primarily on industrial manufacturing and/or food‑based projects.

Your Key Responsibilities As a Mechanical/Piping Designer Intern, you will be fully immersed in the Design team. You will learn to translate engineering concepts into technical reality by working in the 3D design world. We will teach you how to interpret complex process instrumentation diagrams (P&AIDs) and transform schematic engineering drawings into a 3D world of piping, pumps, tanks and plant layouts. You will also have the opportunity to develop 3D modeling skills in Revit and Plant 3D, modeling equipment from vendor drawings and piping from P&AIDs —into overall multi‑discipline project models.
