About the role
We are seeking a seasoned Interior Design Director to lead our high‑end residential FF&E team. The ideal candidate brings
7–10 years of leadership experience
in high‑end residential design, with a proven ability to guide projects from concept through sourcing, installation, and final styling. We’re looking for someone with a proactive mindset, a strong design perspective, and visionary leadership skills that inspire and empower their team to deliver exceptional work. This is a hybrid creative and managerial role, requiring both design excellence and operational oversight. What you’ll do
Lead the design direction for multiple high‑end residential projects, from concept development to installation and final styling. Partner closely with architectural project managers and designers to integrate architecture and interiors seamlessly. Oversee and mentor a team of interior designers, project managers, and procurement staff, assigning responsibilities and ensuring schedules and deliverables are met. Maintain design integrity across all phases of work, providing feedback on FF&E, finishes, art, and accessories. Guide the sourcing, purchasing, and installation process to ensure design intent and quality standards are upheld. Review and redline construction drawings and technical detailing, including RCPs, MEP coordination, drapery details, and electrical plans. Lead design presentations, client meetings, and custom furniture development. Concept, review, and refine custom furniture pieces in collaboration with fabricators and workrooms. Oversee multiple concurrent projects, ensuring design quality, profitability, and consistency across the studio. Contribute to the studio’s strategic growth, supporting operational improvements, client development, and team evolution. Oversee project budgets, invoices, and billing to ensure profitability and financial alignment with project goals Qualifications
Professional Degree in Interior Design or related field (Accreditation preferred) Minimum
7 years of high‑end residential design experience , with a portfolio Proven ability to manage project teams and clients on complex, high‑profile, and politically sensitive residential and hospitality projects Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, including mentoring, staffing, and performance reviews Ability to brainstorm, sketch, and problem‑solve quickly across multiple design challenges Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Studio Webware, Revit (a plus), and Adobe Creative Cloud, Highly organized and able to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment Willingness and ability to travel as needed
