About this Internship:
The LEDC Farmers Market and Events Internship Program will offer the experience of working in a nonprofit organization focusing on building community through the arts. Internships are open to anyone with a strong desire and commitment. Interns will work closely with LEDC staff and will be involved with regular activities as well as special projects as needed. The Farmers Market and Events Intern’s role is to help support the LEDC in planning and executing community arts events, Farmers' Markets (including Pride Celebration, Community Health Day, and Halloween Party), Gallery Openings, and skill growth classes, while also gaining education and experience in nonprofit administration. Special areas of focus are audience engagement, community-focused workshops, and small business relations. In order to help facilitate the education and growth of the Farmers Market and Events Interns, we cater the focus of the internship based on the candidate’s skill set and interests. Hours:
This position requires a commitment from May to October, 16 - 20 hours a week. These hours would be split between Friday and Saturday. (If you can only work part of this time please still apply) Academic credit may be received depending on the intern’s college program. Responsibilities:
Setting Up and Striking Events Coordinating with musicians and setting up PA systems Running simple activities - such as a craft table Prepping/ packing supply bags Interacting with Artists, Musicians, volunteers, community members Taking notes, images, and videos of any events where they are present Qualifications:
Interest in the arts and neighborhood community building Strong communication skills and attention to detail Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments and meet deadlines Creative, flexible, self-starter who also works well within a team takes direction well Position Location:

About the LEDC The Lansdowne Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization whose mission is to celebrate the arts as a catalyst to generate economic activity and encourage investment in the Lansdowne area. We do this through a variety of events and services for current and prospective businesses, as well as residents and visitors. The LEDC operates an art studio and co-working building called UtilityWorks. Which includes affordable artist studios, a gallery, ceramics studio as well as space open for use by the broader community. The LEDC oversees the administration and planning of several festivals and fairs, including Arts on the Ave, a fall outdoor street festival, A Bit of the Arts, an indoor winter fine art festival, and the Lansdowne Farmers Market, which runs weekly during the summer and at select times during the rest of the year. Additionally, the LEDC partners with the Lansdowne Borough to aid in the production of events.
