Summary The Product Specialist – Specifications System is responsible for owning, maintaining, and continuously improving the company’s product specifications platform. This role ensures that all product data, technical specifications, attributes, and documentation are accurate, up‑to‑date, and aligned with business, regulatory, and customer requirements. The position works closely with our customers as well as with internal positions such as Customer Service, Sales, Production, Planning, Purchasing, and Technical Service to ensure accurate material is assigned to the specifications.

The position requires strong attention to detail, a process‑driven mindset, and the ability to translate technical information into structured, reliable data within the system. The Product Specialist also partners with cross‑functional teams to optimise data workflows, support digital transformation efforts, and ensure the system delivers the information needed for internal operations and the external market.

Your Mission

Plan and coordinate trials for customers and suppliers

Lead pre‑trial and post‑trial meetings in accordance with trial process

Monitor trials daily, modify as necessary, and communicate status

Process and interpret all information provided by stakeholders to ensure data accuracy for systematic product creation

Responsible for all the artwork management and printing plate needs for scheduling

Reverse engineering of competitor products in order to develop specifications for competitive offers

Maintain close communication with procurement regarding material substitutions and raw material claims

Provide technical support to planning, production, customer service, technical service and the sales team as required

Assist and support the planner as needed

Maintaining data integrity for article specifications in SAP, including mass updates as required

Work closely with shift leaders, material handlers, printing manager and mounters as needed for trials and technical support

Resolve problems by collecting and analysing information, coordinating solutions

Ensure that all administration procedures are followed and executed in a professional manner

Ad‑hoc Reporting – requires significant knowledge of SAP Query tables

Support overall management needs as defined

Must be able to work in a scheduled driven environment; timing is a critical function

Your Profile

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field or related work and training experience equivalent to degree

+3 years as product engineering support in a manufacturing environment

User experience in SAP preferred or similar ERP system

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work independently

Must be able to use the following computer programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, Access

Strong analytical and organisational skills, detail oriented, and interpersonal skills

Ability to collaborate and communicate with all levels of employees and management
