Marketing Cloud Specialist Position Title: Marketing & Communications Specialist (Position Number 8102872)

Work Modality: Hybrid – 4 In‑Person Location: Development & Donor Services (03635A), Chicago‑Water Tower Campus, Loyola University Chicago Department: ADV‑INFO SERVICES & REPORTING Employment Type: Full‑Time (Exempt)

Responsibilities Web Administration & Management

Oversee utilization of CMS and digital platforms (Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, Terminal4, Kindsight Connect, CVENT), coordinating with Advancement, University Marketing & Communications, and ITS.

Ensure correct data flow within the Salesforce ecosystem.

Design and create online event registration pages, donation pages, microsites, survey forms, and email invitations for the Advancement division.

Edit and optimize images and content for online use.

Develop web templates that can be easily used and modified by non‑technical staff.

Lead web analytics using Google Analytics and SiteImprove to monitor site performance and identify improvement opportunities.

Ensure content follows best‑practice guidelines (meta tags, alt text, internal linking).

Oversee content lifecycle management (publishing, updating, archiving) to maintain brand consistency and optimize user experience.

Marketing Cloud

Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of HTML email coding techniques and best‑practice display across email clients.

Utilize Salesforce Marketing Cloud features (personalized/dynamic email messages, landing pages, automated campaigns) with proficiency in HTML.

Segment and pull dynamic subscribers/contacts for campaigns.

Query data with SQL, set up content blocks, and personalize emails using AMPscript.

Build data extensions and journeys for email delivery.

Lead collection of email analytics and report on email performance to stakeholders.

Understand industry best practices, email regulations and compliance measures (CAN‑SPAM, privacy regulations).

Minimum Education & Work Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 2–3 years of experience in digital marketing (web content development, HTML email, Salesforce Marketing Cloud).

Proficiency in HTML, CSS, SQL, AMPscript, and Photoshop (or equivalent image editing).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with donor and fundraising databases (e.g., Kindsight Ascend).

Familiarity with CMS platforms (Terminal4, Salesforce Experience Cloud).

Certificates / Credentials / Licenses

Obtain Salesforce Marketing Cloud Associate certification within six months of starting.

Computer Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Advanced working knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Proficiency in HTML, CSS, SQL, and CMS integration.
