You will be a part of our Marketing and Communications team in the Office of University Development (OUD). You will support and enhance the Leaders and Best brand in a collaborative manner with many different facets of the organization. Our goal is to improve the fundraising and engagement expectations of the University of Michigan. Additionally, you will help position U‑M as a leader in online engagement for fundraising.

Responsibilities*
Content Creation & Coordination and Community Management (70%) Primary daily contact for social media programs. Create and coordinate the monthly, weekly, and daily social media content calendar to guarantee an appropriate mix on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Uncover content ideas by researching and monitoring gift announcements and all philanthropy related campus news from the schools, colleges, and campuses across U‑M. Write social media posts in collaboration with the Communications team on messaging and tone. Edit and copyedit all social content (video captions, post copy, creative assets, etc.). Metrics, Measurement and Benchmarking (20%) Use social media analytical tools for social listening and metrics reporting. Track daily metrics and compile into a monthly metrics report‑out email to provide leadership, communications and social media teams with relevant insights. Track quarterly metrics and report out to the digital team. Implement and track online and social media paid ad campaigns. Monitor competitor and peer institution social media programs; provide insight and suggestions to relevant teams. Other (10%) Research, understand, measure, and experiment with new ways to use social media to achieve overall marketing goals. Perform other duties as assigned. 2–3 years professional social media experience with strong writing skills OR 2–3 years professional writing experience with personal or professional social media experience. Excellent written communication skills, including spelling and grammar; ability to write compelling content for a social media audience. Experience developing and managing social media accounts and other interactive communications programs. Experience in the tactical use of social media platforms (Facebook, X, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn), and motivated to learn/monitor new trends. Why Work at Michigan?
