Job Description Sunnyside Games
are looking for a 2D character animator. The role focuses on crafting expressive, stylized animations that help define gameplay feel and character identity across both side-scrolling and top-down perspectives.
This role will involve multiple projects and assignments over the coming months and years. They are looking for someone interested in ongoing collaboration and building a strong, long-term working relationship.
Responsibilities
Create frame-by-frame animations for player characters, enemies, and interactive elements
Explore and iterate on animation styles to support gameplay clarity and responsiveness
Collaborate with designers and artists to ensure animations align with mechanics and visual direction
Participate in feedback sessions and refine animations based on team input
Requirements
Early professional experience or a strong portfolio demonstrating animation skills
Interest in stylized art directions and indie games
Good communication and collaboration skills
Professional working proficiency in English (French is a plus)
Please, if possible, include gameplay animations in your demo reel, whether in side scrolling or top down views. The role will focus on frame by frame gameplay animation.
