
Videographer (Shooter and Editor)

The Opportunity
We're seeking a talented and versatile Videographer to join our in‑house creative team. This position combines hands‑on video production with post‑production editing, requiring someone who can seamlessly transition from operating a camera on set to crafting compelling narratives in the editing suite. You'll be the visual storyteller who brings our brand to life through dynamic video content across multiple platforms and initiatives.
As a core member of our creative department, you'll collaborate closely with teammates (Video Director, Video Producer, and creative staff) marketing, communications, and leadership teams to produce high‑quality video content that elevates our brand presence, engages our audiences, and supports our business objectives. This role demands both technical excellence and creative vision, with the autonomy to shape projects from concept through final delivery.
The Team 258° is MassMutual’s in‑house agency for homeoffice and field associates. As part of the broader Brand and Marketing group within MassMutual, 258° is dedicated to supporting the promotion of products, services, and community involvement of MassMutual for both B2C and B2B audiences. We are staffed with creative and technical talent whose expertise allows the consistent delivery of high‑level marketing, communication, and branded design solutions. Your individual role will have a big impact on the delivery of branded videos to be curated in all of MassMutual’s communication channels.
The Impact The videographer role is responsible for managing the video equipment and inventory, shooting compelling video under the direction of the Video Director, Art Directors and Creative Directors, and Video Producer, editing footage to bring brand stories to life, managing files in a team environment with file sharing and specific naming conventions, working under tight deadlines, and occasional domestic travel for video shoots. To be successful in this role, the Videographer will accomplish high‑level work through the following competencies:

The Minimum Qualifications
2+ years of professional experience in video production and editing, preferably in an in‑house creative department.
2+ years creating video with
advanced skills in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and related Adobe Creative Suite applications
The Ideal Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Communications, or related creative field
2+ years
experience operating professional cinema cameras (Sony, Canon, Blackmagic, RED, etc.), lighting equipment, and professional audio recording systems
2+ years of professional videography experiencewith progression in responsibility and complexity of work
1+ years experience showcasing diverse video work (shooting and editing)
Strong editing skillsusing industry‑standard software
Understanding of composition, framing, and visual storytellingprinciples
Solid understanding of video codecs, frame rates, resolutions, aspect ratios, and delivery specifications for multiple platforms
Experience in troubleshoot technical challenges on set and in post‑production independently
Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
Experience with cinema cameras and RAW workflows
Understanding of brand guidelines and corporate communications protocols
Motion graphics and animation skillsusing Adobe After Effects or similar software
Color grading expertisewith advanced knowledge of color theory and correction techniques
Experience inmulti‑camera productions
Proficiency with advanced stabilization equipmentincluding gimbals, Steadicams, and sliders
Familiarity with content management systemsand video hosting platforms
Understanding of current video trendsacross social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.)
Experience with audio recording and mixingto ensure high‑quality sound in video productions
Knowledge of lighting techniquesfor both indoor and outdoor shoots
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and other creative talent
