New Car Sales Manager

to help lead our

all-new Kia dealership in Grand Rapids, MI , opening in

May

in a brand-new, state‑of‑the‑art facility.

This role is responsible for driving sales performance, increasing market share, and ensuring long‑term customer retention and profitability through strong leadership, disciplined processes, and team development. The ideal candidate is energized by the opportunity to

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Forecast sales volume, gross profit, and key expenses on a monthly and annual basis.

Recruit, hire, train, motivate, coach, and evaluate all new‑vehicle sales employees.

Establish clear performance expectations and hold the team accountable to results and process.

Prepare and administer the annual operating budget for the new‑vehicle sales department.

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations affecting new‑vehicle sales.

Maintain accurate daily sales logs reflecting all dealership sales activity.

Develop, implement, and monitor effective prospecting, CRM usage, and sales control systems.

Ensure consistent and timely follow‑up with all prospects and new‑vehicle purchasers.

Conduct daily and weekly sales meetings focused on performance, process, and development.

Enforce dealership policies, procedures, and professional standards.

Partner with Finance to improve gross profit and F&I penetration.

Complete deal settlement sheets accurately and submit to accounting promptly.

Establish and maintain high standards for vehicle delivery and customer experience.

Provide accurate floor traffic and performance data to management daily.

Review and manage new‑vehicle inventory to ensure proper mix, turn, and merchandising.

Recommend inventory levels by model, color, and equipment based on market and customer data.

Assist the used‑vehicle department with trade appraisals as needed.

Direct merchandising and digital presentation efforts in coordination with leadership.

Assist in advertising campaigns and promotional initiatives.

Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

2-4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Automotive sales management experience required.

Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high‑performing teams.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to set, track, and achieve targeted goals.

Demonstrated commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Excellent communication, organization, and follow‑up skills.

Comfortable leveraging technology and CRM tools to drive accountability and results.

Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, start‑up environment while maintaining structure and discipline.
