Description
The Private Bank, Lending Specialist (Residential) supports the Relationship Manager with their client's loan portfolio with extraordinary care and service. The Lending Specialist works primarily in operational, processing, and analytical capacities, ensuring a high level of quality control from the loan application through the closing process. They possess a strong understanding of Citizens Private Bank's credit policy, underwriting guidelines, and loan origination systems.
Primary Responsibilities
Serves as main point of contact for RM/Client Relations team and third parties after RM handoff.
Performs thorough analysis of client financials to determine loan eligibility and qualification.
Monitors active pipeline to ensure efficient loan workflow and meeting closing deadlines.
Maintains a high level of quality control for verifying accuracy of financial and loan documents.
Manages end-to-end loan process with internal/external partners from the time the loan is live through closing, including presenting loan to Credit Officer, locking and submitting loans, collecting conditions, assisting with closing coordination, and handling post-closing requests.
Specializes in residential lending and underwriting, setting up loan and borrower terms in Empower, locking rates, ordering appraisals and titles, preparing loan estimates, initiating condo/co‑op reviews, completing underwriting reviews, generating conditions, reviewing additional financials, uploading documentation, composing loan narratives, identifying policy variances or exceptions, and providing initial approval decisions for Credit Risk officer approval.
Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials
3+ years of residential lending underwriting and loan processing experience.
Demonstrated success working with high net worth, non‑traditional loans and mortgage underwriting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
Proficient use of MS Excel, including pivot tables, macros, formulas, and application navigation.
Hours & Work Schedule
Hours per Week: 40 (exempt position; flexibility and additional hours may be required).
Work Schedule: Monday‑Friday, required 4 days in office and 1 day WFH.
Hiring Locations: West Palm Beach, FL; San Francisco, CA; Los Angeles, CA.
Pay Transparency The salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including location, skills, and experience.
