Job Description Join Our Team at Round Rock ISD! Round Rock ISD is seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Benefits Specialist to join our Human Resource Services team. This role supports the day-to-day administration of the district's employee benefits programs — helping employees navigate enrollment, answering benefits questions, and ensuring accurate payroll deductions. If you have experience in benefits administration and want to make a direct impact on the employees of a large, nationally recognized school district, we'd like to hear from you. The Specialist, Benefits provides direct support to district employees on benefits-related matters, including enrollment, qualifying life events, and payroll deductions. This role assists with open enrollment coordination, conducts benefits information sessions, reconciles benefit deductions against payroll records, and supports the district's wellness program. The Specialist works closely with the Benefits & Leave team and provides backup support to the leave specialist team during peak periods.
Responsibilities
Conduct benefits information sessions and assist new employees with enrollment in benefits plans.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefit programs, qualifying life events, and deductions from pay; ensure timely and courteous resolution.
Process and reconcile benefit deduction balancing in accordance with payroll deadlines; assist with data validation between Munis and the benefits administration system to ensure paycheck accuracy.
Provide timely COBRA notices to eligible employees and dependents.
Support the annual open enrollment process, including group presentations and preparation and distribution of materials.
Assist with preparation of informational materials for benefit programs and stay current with applicable insurance and retirement laws and regulations.
Assist with planning, implementing, and facilitating the district's wellness program.
Provide backup support to the leave specialist team during peak volume periods.
Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and board policies.
Salary Range:
24.00-28.57/hour
