Job Description We're seeking a UX/UI Designer in the Joint Base Anacostia/Bolling (JBAB), and or Reston areas to support development of mission critical applications involving intelligence mission.
The UX/UI Designer will work closely with clients, Business Analysts, engineers, developers, and data scientists from a multivendor team to learn from the users and produce low‑high fidelity comps and prototypes which will be tested, iterated, and briefed for development. This role includes product centric interaction and interface design working on low‑mid fidelity static comps and interactive prototypes. The UX/UI Designer will work on visual design initiatives that adhere to design principles overall consistency.
Responsibilities
Work with stakeholders to identify requirements and specifications for the development of new and established features
Create low to high fidelity wireframes and prototypes to communicate concepts and design patterns for delivery teams and stakeholders
Create presentations and user flows to effectively communicate integration and product vision
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with UX/UI lead and designers, clients, and Business Analysts
Skillfully manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks and adhere to deadlines
Efficiently facilitate and present design decisions and incorporate customer feedback
Conduct usability/functionality testing and design audits of implemented designs
Help build, maintain and contribute to organization's new design system
Participate in peer review design sessions and other UX team activities
Here's what you need
Minimum 5+ years in a professional UX design or similar role with a strong portfolio showcasing design work and process
Experience designing for Enterprise SaaS and web‑based applications
Experience with Quasar Framework
Experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch or Adobe Creative Suite
Experience working in Agile environments
Strong understanding of aesthetics, encompassing interaction and visual design
Experience with Confluence, Jira, Git, Artifactory, etc.
Strong communication and facilitation skills
Bonus points if you have
Experience with web‑mapping applications such as ArcGIS Map Viewer.
Experience with accessibility (WCAG 2.0/Section 508 Compliance)
Experience with UI Kits, adhering to pattern libraries and required frameworks
Advanced knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC)
Experience with web technologies such as Javascript, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Frameworks
Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross‑functional work teams toward task completion
Demonstrated effective presentation and analytical skills
Willingness to travel to client sites
Security Clearance
An active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph, as required
Education
Bachelors Degree in Human Factors, HCI, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Communication or related field
Work Schedule
Hybrid schedule; onsite 2-3 days per month as needed with locations in DC and or Reston.
