Job Description Fire Sprinkler Designer This individual will design, coordinate, andpossibly projectmanagethe firesprinklersystems for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. Will design and create the finished representation for thesprinklersystems using drawing and drafting skills and tools.The drawings produced will be used as a guide by every other link in the chain of construction, both on-site and in the office.The designer will have responsibility for theinitialplanning of a project including scheduling of time, creatingmaterial stock listing,analyzing changes, and solving problems.Will have close coordination with the project manager, project superintendent, and sales representative will berequiredthroughout theduration of the project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Review construction contract documents and coordinate with subcontractors and General Contractor/owner to gather the required information to design the project’sfiresprinklersystem.

Thorough useof analytical thinking and problem solving,determineconstruction feasibility and systems possibilities.

Create detailed drawings through extensive use of AutoCAD,AutoSprink,BIM,BluebeamorHydraCADtype programs.

Create a stock list for allmaterialrequiredthroughout the project.

Perform hydraulic calculations.

Develop initial schedules for preliminary project work.

Maintain designhistorical records for future use.

Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure the companyis meetingcustomers’ expectations.

Coordinate with other departments within the office to ensure proper handover of job information.

Perform Project Manager functions asrequired.

Manage project & drawing archives.

Complete other assigned responsibilities as directed by immediate supervisor or otherAtlanta Sprinkler Inspectionmanagement personnel.

Education and Certifications

Bachelor’sdegreein Mechanical Engineeringpreferred.

Applicable degreefrom a technical school or college.

Twoyearsor more experienceincommercialindustrial,and residential design.

Detail-oriented and skilled in free hand and mechanical lettering and drawings.

NICET certificationis a plus.

Job Qualifications

Demonstrated ability with AutoCAD,AutoSprink, BIM, Bluebeam orHydraCADor other specialized fire sprinkler layout software.

Project management experienceisa plus.

Proven ability andtrack recordof performing workin a timely mannerand meeting deadlines.

Experience incommercialindustrial, and residential firesprinkler systemdesign.

Musthavegood communicationskills.

Willingto coordinate and work well with others.

Willingto pass a drug screen test, background, and reference check.
