What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Analyze medical records and assign proper ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes
Collaborate with Patient Financial Services to ensure accurate coding for reimbursement
Review and resolve coding edits, denials, and clearinghouse rejection errors
Provide education and feedback to clinical staff regarding coding best practices
Query providers for clarification on documentation to ensure accurate coding
What is Required (Qualifications)
High School Diploma required
2+ years of abstract coding for physician services required
Minimum of four years of healthcare experience with at least three years in professional coding in Orthopedics or OB/GYN required
Registered Health Information Administrator or equivalent certification required
Basic knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding principles
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience working remotely
Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and review the work of others
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
