
Senior Client Strategy Lead

We are looking for a highly confident, client-facing marketing strategist who can lead conversations with skeptical business owners and pressure-filled leadership teams. This is not a traditional account manager role. This is not a project manager role. And this is not a behind-the-scenes strategist role. We need someone who can sit across from tough clients, listen carefully, identify what is really going on, develop smart strategic ideas, and then confidently guide the conversation toward the right path - even when strong personalities, opinions, and resistance are in the room. Many of our clients are small businesses and mid-market companies. They often feel pressure to grow, pressure to justify spend, and pressure to make the right decisions. They may not deeply understand marketing, but they do have opinions. They can be skeptical. They can be emotional. They can challenge recommendations. We need someone who does not get intimidated by that. We need someone who can build rapport quickly, establish credibility, think with clarity, and persuade with logic, confidence, and strong marketing judgment. This person should be able to make clients feel heard without letting bad thinking win. They should know how to take a client’s idea, pressure-test it, improve it, reframe it, and help the client confidently move forward with a better solution. In many cases, success in this role means helping clients feel that our best ideas are not in conflict with their thinking — but an elevation of it.
What You’ll Do
Lead high-stakes client conversations with confidence, clarity, and control
Listen deeply to client goals, frustrations, assumptions, and internal dynamics
Develop smart strategic recommendations across marketing and digital initiatives
Guide owners, executives, and client stakeholders toward stronger decisions
Build trust and rapport with skeptical clients who may challenge recommendations
Present ideas in a way that is persuasive, logical, commercially grounded, and easy to understand
Push back when needed without becoming defensive or combative
Reframe client opinions into smarter strategic direction
Help clients feel confident in the work, the thinking, and the path forward
Partner with internal teams to shape direction and ensure strategic clarity
Use AI as a natural part of research, ideation, preparation, analysis, and communication
What We’re Looking For
Strong experience in marketing strategy, brand strategy, digital strategy, agency consulting, or client advisory work
Proven ability to lead conversations with business owners, executives, or demanding client stakeholders
Strong marketing instincts across positioning, messaging, websites, campaigns, content, digital experiences, and growth strategy
Confidence presenting and defending ideas in front of skeptical audiences
The ability to think clearly and respond well in live conversations
Strong communication skills, especially the ability to simplify complex ideas and make them persuasive
Executive presence without arrogance
Emotional intelligence paired with backbone
Strong judgment, not just strong opinions
