A privately held real estate development firm is seeking a Development Associate to support its retail and mixed‑use development pipeline. This role sits at the intersection of leasing, design, and construction coordination, providing hands‑on exposure to the full development cycle.

Description This position reports directly to the Senior Development Manager and offers a clear path to expanded responsibilities and independent project ownership. If you enjoy solving problems, coordinating with architects, engineers, and tenants, and working in a fast‑moving environment where every project is unique, this role is an excellent fit.

What You'll Do Leasing & Tenant Coordination

Review tenant drawings and ensure alignment with landlord requirements and project standards.

Coordinate with tenants, architects, and internal leasing teams on design approvals.

Design & Project Support

Assist with site plans, architectural drawings, landscape plans, and lease exhibits.

Support the implementation and enforcement of company‑wide design standards.

Review submittals and coordinate changes with consultants and internal teams.

Development Process Support

Assist the development team with due diligence, permitting coordination, and document preparation.

Help prepare reports, presentations, and project status updates.

Track project milestones in Procore or similar tools.

Construction Support

Support bidding and contracting processes.

Work with the construction team to ensure drawings, standards, and design intents are executed properly.

Profile

2‑4 years of experience in tenant coordination, general contracting, construction coordination, architecture, retail development, or site design.

Comfortable reading site plans, architectural drawings, and tenant improvement packages.

Strong communicator who enjoys coordinating across multiple departments.

Organized, detail‑oriented, and effective in a fast‑paced environment.

Proficiency with design or construction software (Bluebeam, CAD, Procore, or similar).

Job Offer

Competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $95,000 with flexibility for those with direct experience and more tenure.
