
IU Health Foundation Marketing & Communications Summer 2026 Internship - DePauw

IU Health Foundation is the fundraising organization that supports Indiana University Health hospitals statewide. Our mission is to leverage the power of philanthropy to support IU Health’s goal of making Indiana one of the nation’s healthiest states.
This internship is offered to DePauw students only
and provides an excellent introduction to the fields of healthcare, marketing, communications and nonprofit work in the largest healthcare system in Indiana. Our team is looking for a student with excellent communications, marketing, and project management skills who has an interest in philanthropy and/or healthcare.
Intern responsibilities
Supporting the Donor Communications and Annual Fund team in building our brand through in-person and digital mediums
Writing news stories and other philanthropy communications materials for a variety of platforms
Graphic design to create materials for donors, potential donors, event attendees and more
Capturing photography/videography to support brand storytelling materials on web and social
Contributing to and maintaining communications plans and editorial calendars.
The internship spans 10-12 weeks. Start and end dates are somewhat flexible. The intern is responsible for their own housing, transportation, and parking. The intern is expected to work in-person in the downtown Indianapolis office three days a week; two days a week can be in office or virtual. Prior to starting work, the intern will have to undergo a health screening, background/reference check, and onboarding session required by IU Health.
Qualifications
Specific responsibilities will be crafted to meet the student’s interests, but an ideal candidate will have many of these attributes and abilities.
Rising junior or senior seeking a bachelor’s degree in English Writing, English Literature, Economics and Management, or Communication. Interested candidates who are studying related fields may also be considered.
Strong communication skills, in person and online.
Proven project management skills.
Experience with Microsoft 360 applications.
Take initiative and meet objectives.
Manage a variety of responsibilities to meet deadlines.
Creatively approach challenges.
Work both independently and in teams.
Experience working with highly educated and diverse populations.
Passion for healthcare and improving the health of our community.
Current on flu vaccine.
