
Sales Advisor: Insurance- Eldridge

JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Sales Advisor position is responsible for establishing the sales targets to meet the company objectives. He/she is also responsible for delivering strategic sales plans based on company goals, which will promote sales growth and client relationships for the organization. The Sales Advisor is responsible for the management and development of the sales team at all locations (Eldridge, DeWitt and Muscatine).
Essential Functions A person in the Sales Advisor position is expected to perform the following essential functions:
Develops annual sales plan in support of organization strategy and objectives
Directs implementation and execution of sales policies and practices
Manages the production of existing Book(s) of Business according to established business objectives
Negotiates annual new and renewal production goals with Vice President and Producing Team
Develops information and recommendations for prospective accounts, presents proposals in a professional manner, and adheres to agency policies and procedures for writing a new account
Develops prospects through an organized agency direct solicitation program of cold calls, mailings, and phone contacts, from present account referrals, target-marketing leads, and community affiliations and other contacts
Manages a sales team that is capable of carrying out needed sales and service initiatives
Continuously develops his/her knowledge in the division of insurance through continuing education and training
Establishes servicing procedures when necessary for designated accounts
Assists in resolving any problems in accounting or claims for accounts produced
Coordinates timely presentations for both new and renewal business
Assists in marketing accounts, where appropriate, due to relationships or product expertise
Documents all material conversations with insureds and/or carriers regarding exposures and coverages
Performs other related duties as assigned by Leadership

Travel This position requires travel that is dependent on the radius of the Sales Advisor’s current and prospective accounts. To accommodate for renewals, presentations, and conventions, travel is frequent, often outside of the local area, and can be overnight. Traveling outside normal working hours should be expected.
Work Environment This position operates in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, and professional office environment. It is expected for him/her to tell the truth, work hard, and have fun with a good attitude.
Other Requirements The Sales Advisor must obtain all licenses to discuss or place insurance in states where the agency functions, as required by each State’s Department of Insurance.
