Role Summary: As a Technical Trainer, you will play a pivotal role in meeting the technical education needs of our site. Your primary responsibility will be to design and deliver comprehensive training programs for Machine Technicians, Extruder Operators, and Inspector Packers. These programs will either supplement existing courses or be developed as new courses. You will administer testing programs to evaluate the success of these courses and ensure their effectiveness.
This role reports to the Technical Training Manager with a dotted line relationship to the Plant Manager. The role is integral in planning and scheduling all training classes. On a monthly basis, you will provide progress reports to the Plant and HR Manager, offering proactive solutions to any challenges that may arise. Your role involves close collaboration with plant management to enhance productivity and create effective solutions.

Accountabilities:
Develop and deliver training programs for Machine Technicians, Extruder Operators, Inspector Packers, and others as assigned.
Gain a thorough understanding of thermoforming processes from extrusion to trim press.
Adhere to good manufacturing practices to ensure product safety.
Lead teams in a manufacturing environment, ensuring accountability to meet training and education needs.
Schedule required courses to fulfill training needs for assigned areas.
Stay updated on current technology related to materials, processes, and machinery.
Recommend new or alternative methods to achieve departmental goals.
Demonstrate knowledge of ISO procedures and requirements, contributing to training and compliance efforts.
Act as a member of the site manufacturing team approximately 10% of the time (4-5 hours per week), providing breaks and operating manufacturing equipment as needed.
Perform other corporate training duties and travel to other sites, as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree or equivalent work experience, with a focus on thermoforming machine operation and/or extrusion.
Flexibility to meet training needs across three shifts, particularly supporting 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Experience in organizational training and leading both classroom and hands-on training.
Strong desire for continual learning and personal development.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional ongoing training through vendors, professional groups, or post-graduate classes is highly desirable.
Successful experience in a fast-paced, autonomous environment with lean manufacturing.
Familiarity with the 5S Organization System.
Experience supporting change management efforts.
Physical Demands:
Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
Prolonged periods of seated work.
Ability to frequently lift 15-25 lbs.
Ability to correctly wear and use personal protective equipment.
Occasional repetitious tasks with upper extremities and periods of standing work.
