Role Overview We are seeking a driven and polished Sales Associate to grow Plantin’s presence across the New York metro market. This is a dual‑mandate role requiring both the tenacity to hunt new business and the relationship acumen to cultivate and expand existing accounts. You will be the primary point of contact for fine dining restaurants, Michelin‑starred kitchens, luxury hotels, and premier hospitality groups throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a strategic territory plan targeting fine dining restaurants, boutique hotels, and luxury hospitality groups across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut
Prospect and close new accounts while managing a growing portfolio of existing chef and hospitality relationships
Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on truffles, seasonality, sourcing, and culinary applications
Conduct tastings, product presentations, and on‑site visits to demonstrate product quality and educate clients
Collaborate with the Brand Director on market strategy, pricing, and promotional programming
Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets for both new business acquisition and account retention
Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline reporting, and account activity logs
Represent Plantin at industry events, trade shows, and culinary activations across the metro area
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of sales experience in the food & beverage or food service industry — premium/specialty ingredients experience strongly preferred
Established relationships with executive chefs, F&B directors, or purchasing managers in the New York metro dining and hospitality scene
Demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in a field‑based role
Deep passion for food culture, culinary craft, and premium ingredients
Self‑starter with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage a large, active territory independently
Polished communicator — equally comfortable in a chef's kitchen and a hotel boardroom
Proficient with CRM tools (Salesforce or similar) and standard reporting
Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the New York metro region
