Business Development Representative & Community Relations – Recovery Center Pawnee Nation Behavioral Health

Pawnee Nation Behavioral Health serves both Native American communities and the broader regional population, delivering culturally respectful care and clinically excellent treatment aligned with best practices and Joint Commission standards for quality and patient safety.

We are seeking a Business Development Representative – Recovery Center to strengthen regional partnerships and expand access to treatment services across a two-hour service radius surrounding Pawnee, Oklahoma.

This role focuses on building meaningful relationships with tribal communities, healthcare providers, justice systems, and community organizations that support individuals seeking substance use disorder treatment.

This is not a transactional sales role. It is an opportunity to build trusted partnerships that connect people to life-changing recovery services.

Position Overview The Business Development Representative is responsible for expanding community awareness of Pawnee Nation Behavioral Health services and developing referral partnerships throughout the region.

Key Areas Of Focus

Building referral relationships across tribal communities and regional partners

Expanding awareness of treatment services and available levels of care

Strengthening access to treatment for individuals seeking substance use disorder services

Supporting ethical, clinically aligned admissions growth

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Develop and maintain relationships with tribal health systems, tribal courts, tribal social services, and Native-serving organizations throughout Oklahoma and surrounding regions.

Strengthen collaboration with Native communities seeking culturally respectful treatment resources.

Represent Pawnee Nation Behavioral Health at tribal health meetings, community events, and regional gatherings.

Serve as a liaison between Pawnee Nation Behavioral Health and tribal partners seeking detox, residential, or outpatient treatment services.

Develop partnerships with referral sources across a two-hour regional territory, including:

Hospitals and emergency departments

Behavioral health providers

Detox and residential treatment providers

Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs)

Primary care and mental health clinics

Social service agencies

Probation, parole, and justice systems

Veteran service organizations

Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs)

Educate referral partners on treatment programs, levels of care, admission criteria, and clinical services.

Build relationships with local businesses, employers, and community organizations that may encounter individuals seeking treatment services.

Collaborate with faith-based organizations, recovery groups, and community support networks to increase awareness of recovery resources.

Represent Pawnee Nation Behavioral Health at community meetings, professional events, and behavioral health conferences.

Develop and execute a territory outreach plan covering a two-hour service radius surrounding Pawnee, Oklahoma.

Track referral activity, community engagement, and partnership development within the organization’s CRM system.

Monitor referral trends and identify opportunities to improve access to treatment services.

Provide leadership with regular updates regarding outreach initiatives, referral activity, and community needs.

Collaborate with admissions, clinical leadership, case management, and executive leadership to support coordinated patient access and referral partner engagement.

Qualifications Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, marketing, communications, or a related field

Minimum three (3) years of experience in:

Healthcare business development

Behavioral health outreach

Community partnership development

Substance use disorder treatment services

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships with referral partners, healthcare providers, or community organizations.

Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

Ability to work independently while managing a defined outreach territory.

Ability to travel frequently within a two-hour regional service radius surrounding Pawnee, Oklahoma.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working within substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, or addiction recovery services

Experience working with tribal communities, tribal health systems, or Native-serving organizations

Established professional relationships within healthcare, justice systems, or community service organizations in Oklahoma.

Familiarity with Joint Commission standards, healthcare compliance requirements, and behavioral health regulatory environments

Experience representing a healthcare organization at community events, conferences, or professional meetings

Work Environment

Field-based role requiring regular travel throughout Pawnee and surrounding communities.

Travel within a two-hour regional territory is expected.

Occasional evening or weekend community meetings or outreach events may occur.

Compensation The base compensation range for this position is $95,000 – $120,000.

This range reflects Ascension Recovery Services’ good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.

Candidates should be comfortable with a field-based presence supporting collaboration, community engagement, and cross-functional partnership.
