
Entry Level Distribution Specialist

Job Summary The person in this position completes requests for loans, in-service distributions, termination distributions. They handle participant inquiries and plan sponsor inquiries associated with this task. They coordinate loan default reports, Minimum Required Distributions, and other related tasks. The person in this position tracks and reports on the progress of all requests and gives information to participants, plan sponsors, and brokers, as necessary. Training will be provided, but the successful candidate should be comfortable learning independently.
Job Responsibilities
Prepare distribution and loan packages from start to finish, including vesting verifications for daily recordkeep plans
Identify loan defaults and MRD from reports online or provided by plan sponsors
Assist participants, clients, and/or financial advisors with distribution and loan issues/inquiries
Update account managers, management, and plan sponsors as necessary on requests and progress
Serve as backup for answering the AFS participant services line
Possess a general understanding and interpretation of plan documents regarding distributions and loans
Continue training on loan, distribution, and other 401k issues
Pursue and attain NIPA's Distribution Administrator and Loan Administrator certificates
Remain up to date on AFS' Cyber security procedures and training
Establish solid working relationships with all vendors and plan sponsors to ensure open and accurate communication
Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications
Bilingual speaking a plus
Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including telephone communications, office systems, and record keeping
Working knowledge or ability to quickly grasp concepts of reading, reviewing, and understanding plan documents
Knowledge of modern business communication, including style and format of letters, memorandum, minutes, and reports
Ability to use a personal computer
Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word
Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision
Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems
Superior organizational and coordination skills
Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to multi-task
Compensation and Benefits
Base Salary $42,000 - $52,000

You may choose a start time between 7:30 am and 8:30 am CST. You must start at the same time everyday.
