Continuous Improvement Specialist

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialist is responsible for leading loss elimination within an MSE – Mars Supply Excellence team and is critical to supporting all MSE pillars, specifically FMOS and AM. The CI Specialist is expected to develop the operating teams’ technical understanding and mastery of process control, area operation and to support all Daily Management Systems (DMS) owners. CI Specialists are day‑based members of the Area Leadership Team, and an integral part of the FMOS CP2/DDS meetings owning integrity of data systems and leading process definition to identify Centerline targets and document standards.

Minimum Requirements

Associate’s degree in engineering or related field

2+ years’ experience in manufacturing

Data analytic system experience

Production operations experience

CI/Project Management experience

Preferred Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field

5 years’ experience within CPG

Cross‑functional collaboration

Manages ambiguity

Total Productive Maintenance knowledge

What will be your key responsibilities?

Actively participate in daily FMOS meetings. Provide performance data for selected machines and communicate action plans and completed work effectively.

Understand MSE pillars, with a specific focus on AM and FMOS, and coach in these areas.

Perform AM DMS Health Checks. Take action on identified Line Health Check gaps.

Facilitate and own the Line Loss Analysis. Gather, interpret and report data on problem issues. Maintain trend analysis.

Expert for the AM DMS’s (Centerline – CL, Clean Inspect Lubricate – CIL, Abnormality Handling – AH, and 5S) and Changeover Daily Management Systems for the line organization.

Lead process to identify Centerline targets and document standards.

Develop control strategies and decision rules to enable operators to respond to out‑of‑control situations and improve line efficiencies.

Lead root cause problem‑solving efforts on losses for the line/department. Use appropriate problem‑solving tools (basic and advanced) as needed.

Collaborate with line associates and technical group on improvement recommendations.

Provide regular, ongoing communication with line associates and line managers on status of identified losses and improvement activities.

Work with Production Leader and team to ensure that all Line and Departmental metrics are achieved.

Drive safety, quality and efficiency measures through proactive problem‑solving resolution, follow‑up and follow‑through.

Train and develop associates, building team capability in areas of expertise.

Lead and launch MSE/Process improvement teams.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between USD 67,207.00 and USD 92,410.00, depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401(k) plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment. The pay range listed is applicable to IL.
