Are you a scientist with chemistry experience who is curious about technical sales?

Overview The Field Sales Scientist will be responsible for direct sales for all Analytical and Process instruments. The candidate must be willing to seek out and establish relationships with prospects in the chemical, general food, meat, dairy, university, and testing lab industries in order to grow and enhance business in the territory.

Location: Based in Northern CA with regional travel

Duties Include:

Build deep relationships with client companies in the region, offering them unique chemistry solutions to include analytical, process, and sample-prep equipment offerings

Establish priorities for the sales territory and initiate appropriate actions to create, implement and execute a sales plan and meet or exceed the sales targets

Analyze customer lists for territory, establish a list of visits with demos, schedule calls, and utilize efficiently used CRM

Identify quality leads, develop them to high-value opportunities and close the purchase orders, preparing agreements and negotiating the terms

Prepare the quotations, business proposals, and agreements and carry out all activities needed to complete the transactions with the customers and business partners

Ideal Skills/Knowledge:

BA/BS or higher in a technical discipline, chemistry preferred

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

Over 2 years of lab experience, hands-on with lab equipment/instruments

Experience with analytical or sample prep chemistry is a plus

highly organized and disciplined

Able to travel regionally (up to 30% overnight)
